Edit Current Element

To view the Edit Current Element tab:

1. Place your cursor in the editor, inside the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab in the Sidebar.
   

To change the Active Tool:

1. Place your cursor in the editor, inside the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab.
3. Select a tool from the Active Tool area to use it to edit the current element.

To add a tool to your user favorites:

1. Place your cursor in the editor in the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab.
3. Select the desired tool from the Active Tool area.
4. Select the  Favorite Tool button

Note: The Favorite Tool button will be a solid star    for tools that you have already favorited.

To view information about the current tool and visit its associated page in the DesignPLUS User Guide:

1. Place your cursor in the editor in the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab.
3. Select the desired tool from the Active Tool area.
4. Select the  Tool Information button.

To launch an interactive walkthrough for the current tool:

1. Place your cursor in the editor in the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab.
3. Select the desired tool from the Active Tool area.
4. Select the  Walkthrough button (if applicable - not all tools have this feature yet).

To watch an informative video about the current tool:

1. Place your cursor in the editor in the element you want to edit.
2. Open the  Edit Current Element tab.
3. Select the desired tool from the Active Tool area.
4. Select the   Video button (if applicable - not all tools have this feature).

Please consider the following when choosing to use the Edit Current Element tab:

• The Relevant Tools section displays tools in order from least to most specific for the selected element. 
• In many cases, the element you select in the editor will match multiple tools. While the sidebar typically selects the most specific relevant tool, you may have to change tools to edit the desired element accordingly.

While the option to Edit Current Element Style was available in the legacy version of the Design Tools sidebar, this version adds the following features:

• Horizontal instead of vertical organization of relevant tools
• Ability to favorite tools for easy reuse from the Add New Elements panel
• Action Toolbar for quick editing actions for the selected element
